Welcome ...
... to the Nelson Cactus and Succulent Branch of the CSSNZ (Inc), which is the newest branch being formed in 2003 after several Nelson lone members registered for the Wellington / Hutt Valley Annual Convention in February of that year . These Nelsonians got talking and the rest is history, so they say, the Branch being formed in April 2003 after 16 people responded to the inaugural meeting notice, and all signed up.
The enthusiasm and dedication of these members led them to host the South Island Cactus and Succulent Get Together in 2004 (see box below for 2009), the first time it had been held in Nelson, and registrations were received from Christchurch, Timaru, Invercargill and Dunedin. From there they went on to host the 2006 CSSNZ (Inc) Annual Convention which was a huge commitment after only being up an running for 3 years, but well worth the effort.
The enthusiasm continues today as they work hard to foster the Society motto “to grow to study to share”.
Meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month, 7.30pm (4th Thursday of the month from the June 2009 meeting)
Jaycee Meeting Room, Founders' Heritage Park, Atawhai Drive, Nelson.
